Hoax bomb creates panic

Imphal, September 25 2024: A panicky situation unfolded at Palace Compound today in the morning after people came across an object which looked like a bomb.

What made the people panicky was that a kettle fitted with wire was found placed in front of the Thangal General statue at Palace Gate with a red star inscribed with the word PLA and a banner with inscription "46 Suba Mapok Kumon People's Liberation Army" nearby.

Soon after people came across the wire fitted object, Imphal East police rushed to the spot and removed the star, the banner and the kettle by taking precautionary measures.

On checking, toffees (sweets) were found inside the kettle.
