Imphal, January 25 2026: An improvised explosive device (IED) was found at Pangei, Imphal East under Heingang police station today.

Acting on an information received from 31 AR regarding the presence of a suspected IED and a hand grenade at Pangei Road near Hundred Flowers School, a team from Heingang police rushed to the spot and retrieved both the IED and the hand grenade.

Subsequently, the IED was disposed of safely at a paddy field at Pangei at around 4 pm and the hand grenade was defused with the help of a bomb disposal squad (CID-Tech).

Meanwhile, a case has been registered at Heingang police station in connection with the discovery of explosives.
