Imphal, September 24 2026: Police arrested a person at North AOC and seized four gold bars of foreign origin weghing 664 grams yesterday.

The arrested has been identified as Md Shoaib Akhtar (22) of Lilong Khunou.

He was arrested acting on specific information about illegal transportation of gold, said the police.

The arrested individual and the seized gold bars have been handed over to the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) for further necessary legal action, added the police.
