Sit-in protests firing at fish centre

Imphal, May 23 2025: Denouncing the act of firing at the Emoinu Fish Centre, Iroisemba Mayai Leikai on Thursday, by unknown persons, who reportedly came on a two wheeler, locals staged sit-in protest in front of the fish centre on Friday.

Speaking on the sidelines of the protest, Iroisemba Apunba Meira Paibi president Thongam Indrapati called for dialogue in case of any misunderstandings and urged that firing in residential areas, and causing fear among the public, should not be repeated.

She also sought clear explanation about who was responsible for the incident and the reason behind it.
