Imphal, August 22 2026: Unidentified persons fired several rounds of bullets at a hotel at Khurai Lamlong Keithel at around 2.10 am today.

While no one was hurt in the firing, the bullets caused some damages to the hotel including utensils and chairs kept inside.

4-5 shots were fired at the hotel, said sources.

The hotel, which sells Khechri, belongs to Koijam Joymati of Khurai Lamlong.

Her house is situated opposite to the hotel.

Even as Porompat police station has registered a case for investigation, locals staged a sit-in protest demonstration today denouncing the incident.
