Imphal, August 20 2026: The Zeliangrong Welfare Association Delhi (ZWAD) has expressed grief over the passing of veteran peace activist Niketu Iralu in New Delhi on August 18, 2026 .

The Association described him as a "moral compass" for the Naga people and Northeast, who dedicated over six decades to peace and reconciliation.

Through the Forum for Naga Reconciliation, Initiatives of Change and 'Kerunyu Ki', he promoted dialogue, empathy and forgiveness.

ZWAD extended condolences to his wife, Christine Iralu, family members and all who drew inspiration from his life and vision.

The Association prayed that his legacy of reconciliation continues to guide the region.
