Imphal, April 20 2026: Assam Rifles provided critical emergency assistance on April 20, 2026 following a major fire outbreak at the residence of WS Emannuel in Akaphe Village, Chakpikarong.

According to a press note issued by IGAR(South), the fire, which started at approximately 07:25 AM due to a suspected electrical short circuit, rapidly engulfed the house while the owner was away.

Responding with alacrity, a team of personnel was activated and rushed to the site equipped with a 6000-litre water bowser and fire extinguishers.

Workingin close coordination with the local residents, the troops controlled the fire.
