NPCM gets new convenor

Imphal, October 17 2026: Ashang Kasar has handed over the charge of convenor of the Native Peoples Committee Manipur to L Phaomei at a programme held at Manipur Press Club, Imphal today.

Ashang Kasar said he tendered his resignation and stepped down as the convenor of the committee as he intends to contest in the 2027 Assembly elections.

He, however, will continue to support the committee, Ashang Kasar said.

The new convenor, L Phaomei, said that the Native Peoples Committee Manipur is a platform that unites indigenous communities for a stronger Manipur.

Phaomei urged people to continue to support the committee.
