Bengal Monitor Lizard rescued

Thoubal, July 15 2024:
Heirok Police Station handed over a rescued Bengal Monitor Lizard (locally known as Hangkok) to People for Animals Manipur.
The rare variety of lizard was found by Khumanthem Sanjoy Singh of Heirok part III, Ngarouthel Leikai at his gate and was kept unharmed, said a press note by the Managing Trustee, People for Animals Manipur.
Later, ASI S Noren Singh rescued the said lizard as per the directives of the Senior SP Thoubal and OC N Robert.
The rescued lizard is under observation at PFA shelter and is healthy.
It will be released soon.
