Bomb defused at Hiyangthang Bridge

Imphal, May 15: A local made bomb placed upon the Old Bridge of Hiyangthang under Wangoi police station in Imphal West district was defused by the police and the state bomb experts on Thursday at around 9.40 am.

According to the police, the six diameter long bomb was placed inside a plastic can.

The spot where the bomb was found lying is around 9 kilometers from the heart of Imphal city.

The route has been frequently passed through by the Assam Rifles and BSF patrolling parties and it is believed that the miscreants might have fixed to target security forces.
