Imphal, February 15, 2010: State Social Welfare Department has drafted rules related with the setting up of Manipur State Commission for Child Rights under the National Commission for Child Rights Act, said director of social welfare, S Sharatkumar today speaking as chief guest at a seminar held on the theme "Nupi Amasung Angangsinggi Phibam".

The seminar was organised by the Manipur State Council for Women with the financial assistance from the National Commission for Women at the conference hall of the ICM, Lamphelpat.

SHaratkumar informed that Union ministry of Women and Child Welfare has instructed the state government to set up the commission for child under the National Commission for Child Rights Act.

Accordingly drafting and formulation of rules had already submitted to the state government.

The proposal is under process and likely to come up at the earliest, he believed.
