Imphal, February 07, 2011: A Khasi girl reportedly abducted from Shillong has been rescued by security forces from Mayang Imphal.

According to a source, a Muslim youth from Irong Chesaba abducted the 19 year old girl Khasi girl from Shillong on January 21. It is said that the girl's father is a Manipuri.

Following a complaint filed by the girl's boyfriend, Meghalaya Police and security forces launched rescue operations in Manipur.

Finally, security forces succeeded in rescuing the girl from a house located at Mayang Imphal last night.

The victim has undergone medical tests but there is no report of any arrest as yet.
