Imphal, sOctober 04 2024: A subject on Manipuri films has been included in the syllabus of BA Manipuri Course of Rabindranath Tagore University, Hojai which is a public State University located at Hojai in Assam, established through the Rabindranath Tagore University Act of 2017 passed by the State Legislature of Assam in 2017 .

The subject in three units, carrying 80 marks, will be taught in 20 sessions in the fifth semester of BA Manipuri Honours course in the University from 2024-25 .

The three units are -Status of Manipuri Film, Manipuri Documentary and Short Films, and Matamgi Manipur and Sanabi.
