Imphal, March 04 2025: Wildfires have been reported at several places in Chandel and Bishnupur district today.

The wildfires raged at two locations in Keibul Lamjao National Park in Bishnupur, and another at Khongnang Pheisabi Ching under Chandel district.

The fires at Keibul Lamjao National Park broke out at around 5.30 pm.

Firefighters and Forest officials of Keibul Lamjao National Park successfully doused the fires at around 10 pm.

At Chandel, the wildfire broke out at Khongnang Pheisabi Ching at around 11.15 am.

Officials of Sugnu Fire Service, Forest guards, police and Assam Rifles personnel rushed to the spot and controlled the fire.
