Imphal, March 04: Two unidentified gunmen opened fire at the joint residence of the General Manager of Manipur Tribal Development Corporation and AE of the same department at Uripok Polem Leikai today at about 2.30 pm.

According to sources the family members had a miraculous escape as no one was at the house when the miscreants struck.

One bullet hit the wall of the house while another hit the bed post and another hit the sofa.

The two gunmen reportedly came and inquired about their presence as well as their whereabouts and when told that they were not in, the gunmen opened fire.

Incidentally the two officers are siblings, with the GM identified as W Samananda and the AE as W Robby.
