MECS recalls May 3 violence

Imphal, May 03 2026: The Manipur Elders' Consortium, Shillong (MECS) observed the third anniversary of the crisis in Manipur with a discussion on "Manipur and Meitei: The Road Ahead" at Phunga Heritage in Laitumkhrah, Shillong, today.

A press release issued by MECS stated that the Meitei people residing in and around Shillong attended the programme and shared their views on safeguarding the Meitei community and bringing peace to the State.

During the programme, a one minute silence was observed and candles were lit to pay homage to those who lost their lives in the ongoing conflict.
