Imphal, June 02 2025: The Directorate of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution has prohibited any individual, trader, wholesaler, retailer or business entity from indulging in hoarding or unauthorized stockpiling of essential commodities during the ongoing flood situation in the State.

CAF&PD informed that any act of hoarding or illegal stockpiling of essential items will invite strict legal action under the relevant provisions of the Essential Commodities Act 1955.It asked the public to report any hoarding or black marketing activities to mobile no: 7005319645 and 9862619525 .

The order was issued to ensure uninterrupted availability of essential commodities to the public during the ongoing flood.
