Imphal, January 30 2022: A team of Bishnupur commandos arrested 37 year old Angom Ingocha along with 1.487 kg of opium from Lamdan Kabui village yesterday at around 3 pm under Loktak police station.

According to reliable sources, the team conducted a frisking and checking drive at Lamdan Kabui village on receiving input about the movement of some drug peddlers along the Leimatak route.

During the drive, Angom Ingocha Singh, s/o (L) Mangi Singh of Leimatak Thingphai Village was detained for verification.

On checking, five packets of opium weighing 1.487 kg were seized from him.

The arrested person has been handed over to Loktak police station along with the seized items.

Another combined team of Bishnupur commandos and Narcotic and Affair of Border destroyed some acres of poppy cultivation at Dampi Reserve Forest today.
