"Amit Shah, Eknath Shinde may visit State in Oct"

Imphal, September 25 2026: Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Shiv Sena National leader and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde may visit Manipur in the second week of October, said Shiv Sena Manipur State Unit president Moirangthem Tombi today.

He said this while addressing a press meet at the party's office at Babupara, Imphal.

Shiv Sena Assam president and in-charge of North East, Parminder Singh Manchanda was also present in the press meet.

Speaking to reporters, Tombi said that during the proposed visit, the Union Home Minister and Shiv Sena leader will break the ground for development of the sacred site at Koubru Leikha which was desecrated during the height of the Meitei-Kuki conflict.

Tombi said the Shiv Sena Manipur unit has been urging the Central leaders for re-construction and development of sacred sites desecrated in the conflict.

The State unit of the Shiv Sena has been urging the party's National leader Eknath Shinde to visit Manipur, he added.

Commenting on the crises facing Manipur, Tombi said the communities coexisting together must come together for peace to be restored in the State.

While building trust between communities, the Centre and the State, and law enforcement agencies must take strict action against groups threatening peace and coexistence, he added.

The Governments should further rein in SoO insurgent groups and strictly ensure their adherence to the ground rules of the agreement.

Strict action must be taken against groups violating the ground rules, he said.

Shiv Sena Assam president and in-charge of North East, Parminder Singh Manchanda said Manipur must return to normalcy and peace before the upcoming elections in the State.

For peace to be restored in Manipur, Shiv Sena is putting pressure on the Central leaders, he said.

The Government must also swiftly take actions to address the issues and grievances facing internally displaced persons at relief camps, he added.
