Naorem Rome (46) s/o (L) Naorem Gourahari of Kakching Sumak Leikai Keithel Macha Pareng who was arrested in connection with looting a bank has been remanded to police custody for six days.
Naorem Rome was produced before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Thoubal today evening by a team of Kakching police station along with a prayer for six days police custody remand for smooth investigation of the case.
APP of the State submitted that a criminal case was registered at Kakching police station in connection with the looting of Rs 6,49,920 from UCO Bank, Kakching branch by one unknown armed individual.
A Special Investigation Team was formed to crack the case.
Following rigorous and hectic efforts of the SIT, the suspected bank looter identified as Naorem Rome (46) was arrested from his residence yesterday afternoon and Rs 3,03,500, one Honda Activa allegedly used in commission of the crime and one mobile phone were recovered from his possession.
The APP also submitted that the investigation is in the early stage and prayed for police custody remand for smooth investigation of the case.
The Court, after hearing the submission of APP, the IO of the case and on perusal of the case record, remanded the accused in police custody till October 29 .
