RIMS decries vandalism, assault

The RIMS Authority has strongly condemned the vandalism of RIMS property and alleged assault of civil security personnel, leading to injury, by a group of people from Lamphel Khunou on May 23 around 10 am.
Stating that RIMS Imphal has not violated the District Court order, a statement issued by the media advisor of RIMS has refuted all allegations made by Lamphel Khunou Meira Paibi as totally baseless.
The press release went on to clarify that outsiders were restricted from entering the campus in view of the ongoing unrest in the State and for security reasons.
However, there is no restriction in the movement of residents of Lamphel Khunou for their religious and domestic works as per direction of the District Court, clarified the press release.
It further asserted that as a law abiding institute, the eastern side gate was recently kept open for the convenience of the residents of Lamphel Khunou, in addition to one gate near the mortuary "which was always open" .
RIMS Authority has strongly condemned the act of "violence and goondaism" and made an appeal to not repeat such acts in the future.
Notably, on the morning of May 23, a large group of people from Lamphel Khunou area came out and dismantled the barricades put up near the entrance gates and allegedly assaulted an unarmed security personnel accusing the RIMS Authority of bldcking the road with barricades.
