Arms, ammos recovered

Imphal, August 23 2024:
More arms and ammunition were recovered from Bishnupur, Kakching and Sekmai today by different groups of Central and State security forces.
At Bishnupur, a combined team of district commando, and women police personnel conducted a cordon and search operation in the general area of Wainem, Keinou Maning and Ayokpa Khun along with Central forces in the morning and a variety of arms and ammunition were recovered.
The recovered items include one long range improvised mortar (pompi), one AK Rifle, one 303 bolt action rifle, one 12 bore single barrel gun, one 9 mm pistol along with one magazine, one .32 pistol along with one magazine, eleven hand grenades, eight detonators, one magazine of INSAS LMG, one tube launcher, one smoke bomb, one walkie talkie set, eight tear gas shells, ten live rounds of SLR ammunition, seventeen live rounds of AK ammunition, ten live rounds of .303 Rifle, six live rounds of INSAS Rifle, two live round of 9mm, two improvise mortar shells, two carbine ammunition, one hammer sack and some other items.
The items have been handed over to Bishnupur police.
At Kakching, district commandos, Wangoo police and Central forces carried out a search operation at the foothills Wangjing Khunou.
During the search operation, the combined team recovered one INSAS Rifle with magazine loaded with 11 rounds, one 9mm pistol with empty magazine, five hand grenades, ten live rounds of INSAS Rifle, two live round of 9mm, one helmet, one detonator and one bullet proof vest.
The recovered items have been handed over to Wangoo police station.
Meanwhile, a combined team of Imphal West commando, Sekmai police, women police personnel of Imphal West, B- Coy of BSF and 152 Battalion of CRPF carried out a cordon and search operation at Sekmai Parao, Sekmai Lailat and Sekmai Thanga leikai today morning and recovered more arms and explosives.
One country-made pistol with an empty magazine, one country-made rifle with an empty magazine and two hand grenades were recovered during the search operation.
