Imphal, May 23 2023: Many continue to extend relief items to the people who have been displaced by the recent outburst of communal conflicts in the State.

In continuation of the humanitarian aid provided to the people affected by the recent civic disturbances, All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association (AMRPSWA), Imphal-Manipur has provided relief materials to the relief camps opened at Upper Primary School, Kumbi Terakhunou; Kumbi Central High School; Keibul Lamjao, Phaoibi Lairembi Hall, Near Police Station; Pukhao Leitanpokpi and Pukhao Terapur.

In a release, AMRPSWA has appealed to the State Government, CSOs and all stakeholders to make a concerted effort to restore peace & normalcy in Manipur.

The association also urged the State Government to make necessary arrangements for classes to resume at Schools and Colleges on June 1 after the completion of summer vacation on May 31 .

AMRPSWA also advised the parents/ guardians of students upto Class XII who have been displaced by the recent turmoil and wish to enrol their ward at any member school of the association to submit necessary documents of the student to their nearest school(s) .

AMRPSWA further shared that the association will provide the benefit of free admission and tuition fees to the students at the member schools.

Committee Of Forward Clubs (CFC), Thongju has extended monetary aid to 46 persons who have been displaced by the recent civic disturbance and taking refuge at the house of their relatives/ friends.

In a release, CFC informed that the Government and authorities concerned have no information about most of these people who are taking shelter at the houses of their relatives/ friends.

CFC continued that the club will submit a detailed report to the authorities concerned about such people who were not able to take refuge at relief camps opened by the Government/ individuals/ groups and are taking shelter elsewhere.

To help the people displaced by the recent violence, volunteers of Indian Red Cross Society, Imphal East District Branch, Manipur State, have visited 87 shelter camps opened in Imphal East District and distributed relief materials such as hygiene kit, trampoline, mosquito nets, blankets, sanitary pads, toothpaste, food items, etc.

In a release, Indian Red Cross Society has extended its gratitude to Deputy Commissioner Imphal East District, Kh Daina Devi; Dr L Indira Devi, Chief Medical Officer, Imphal East; H Darmadas Sharma, Deputy Director, Arts & Culture, Government of Manipur and other generous donors for their support & assistance.
