128th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose celebrated

Joining the rest of the nation, the 128th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was also celebrated today at INA Memorial Complex, Moirang.
The event jointly organised by INA War Museum cum Netaji Library Moirang and INA Local Advisory Committee Moirang was attended by Works and YAS Minister, Govindas Konthoujam as chief guest, MLA Moirang Assembly Constituency, Th Shanti as functional president and Retd Principal of Moirang College, A Sharatchandra as guest of honour along with Department of Art and Culture, director, K Dinamani and various officials.
The dignitaries and advisory committee paid floral tributes to the statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and began the programme by singing the INA song.
As part of the event, a bike rally participated by 8 Manipuri Bikers' Club was flagged off from Nambol Maibam Lotpa Chingmang and culminated at the historic INA Martyrs Complex.
Later the participants of the bike rally were felicitated with certificates.
Speaking at the event, Works and YAS Minister Govindas Konthoujam stated that Prime Minister Modi has declared January 23 as Parakram Diwas to mark the birth anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose.
Adding that observing Parakram Diwas every year has instilled in the young minds the sense of nationalism.
And to further spread the bravery and legacy of 'Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, the Central Government has already sanctioned 120 crore to 5 States to develop the places where INA set foot during the struggle for freedom.
"Netaji is a visionary leader, his famous slogan "Give me Blood and I will give you Freedom" resonated deeply with many youths, encapsulating his fervent patriotism and fearless determination.
His call to unite the nation against British raj has inspired many.
If we followed the footsteps of Netaji till today, India would been have a stronger country", he added.
