The manipur Human Rights Commission has asked the DGP to submit a report on the destruction of houses that subsequently resulted in the amputation of a youth�s arm on March 12 at Nambol.
The forearm of one Chungkham Sanatomba Singh (20) of Kakyai was amputated in the attack, said his mother Ch Loidang Devi - the complainant in the case.
The rights panel asked the police chief to submit his report by April 5 and posted the matter for further proceedings the next day.
In her complaint, Loidang detailed that the accused persons on March 12 razed many houses including the local club buildings with her son having to be treated at Shija Hospital.
Though an FIR case had been registered at Nambol police station against the accused persons, no substantial action has been taken up, she lamented and prayed before the panel to prevail the authority to expedite the justice delive- rance process.
While seeking the report, the Commission also registered the matter as an MHRC case for inquiry under relevant provision of Protection of Human Rights Act 1993.The accused persons listed in the complaint include Ch Ingocha alias Khansha Singh s/o Ch Yamakar of Langpok LP School (Thongkhong), Ch Ibomcha Singh s/o Ch Yaiskul of Langpok Pukhri Chanam Makha Leirak, Dr Keisham Biramangol Singh currently posted at Nambol Primary health Centre, Langpok s/o (L) K Ibocha, K Guna Singh s/o K Iboba Singh of Langpok and Laishram Romesh Singh s/o L Amuchou Singh of Langpok Keishamthong Laishram Leikai.
