Imphal, December 19 2024:
In celebration of Good Governance Week (December 19-24, 2024), the district-level camp Meeyamgi Numit (People's Day) was held in connection with the Sushasan Saptah - Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore campaign in Imphal East district.
The event took place at the Sub-Divisional Headquarters of Sawombung on December 19, 2024, from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with the objective of addressing public grievances and enhancing service delivery.
According to a release issued by PIB Imphal, the campaign aligns with PM Narendra Modi's vision of "Antyodaya", aiming to improve transparency, accountability, and service delivery at the grassroots level.
The PM in his message on Good Governance Week said, "What is most heartening to note is that 'Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore' campaign continues to be a key element of Good Governance Week.
'Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore' is not merely a slogan, but a transformational effort aimed at bringing effective Governance closer to rural people.
This is the true essence of grassroots democracy, where development reaches the people".
More than 20 district-level departments participated in the camp held in the district, offering a variety of sendees to the public.
Key departments involved included Social Welfare, Health, Land Resources, Education, Labour, Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Handloom & Textiles, Forest, Horticulture, Agriculture, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution (CAF&PD), Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Statistics, Information Technology (IT), Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL), Minor Irrigation (MI), and Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (RD&PR), among others.
Over 2,000 residents attended the camp, where they were able to access essential services and seek solutions to various issues.
This initiative is part of the broader national Good Governance Week celebrations, which aim to promote transparency, accountability, and citizen-centric governance across India, in line with the Government's commitment to ensuring "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" .
