Digital Infrastructure, Residential Football Academy to set up soon in Manipur: K Govindas

As part of the State Government initiative to produce more good players from the State, a Digital Infrastructure to scout players from Manipur and a Residential Football Academy will soon be set up in Manipur, said Govindas Konthoujam.
This statement was made by Govindas Konthoujam while attending the closing ceremony as chief guest of the 10th Grassroot Football Programme, 2024-25 held at Chengei Lampak Sports Complex, Bishnupur.
The month long football coaching programme which concluded today began from December 22, 2024.Govindas continued that the Doner Ministry has already granted the proposal of setting up the infrastructure.
"If the Ministry sanctions the funding this year, the process for setting up the infrastructure will begin soon", he added.
The event was also attended by Moirang AC MLA, Th Shanti as functionary president, YAS Director, T Phullen Meitei, District Football Association Moirang, president Kumam Birendra and secretary, Philem Maghana as guests of honour.
During the training programme altogether 240 players participated in the programme in which 150 players from the age of 4-12, 60 players under the age of 13 and 30 players under the age of 150 participated in the camp.
Altogether 14 coaches led by AFC C License Holder, Ph Surendro instructed and trained the players.
