Imphal, May 18 2026:
The chairman of Kabui Union Manipur, Bishnupur District has called for a military crackdown on Kuki narco terrorists while denouncing their "war" on indigenous communities of Manipur.
Golmei Jiten Kabui made the statement during the sit-in protest organised jointly by the United Protection Committee Nambol and Kabui Union Manipur, Bishnupur District under the aegis of COCOMI at Nambol Bazar today.
The protest called for an end to the Government of India's alleged "proxy war" and a military crackdown on Kuki terrorists.
Speaking by the sideline of the protest, Golmei Jiten Kabui said though the conflict began three years ago, Kuki terrorists have continued their violent onslaught on different indigenous communities of Manipur, not just Meeteis.
They have carried out overreaching transgressions in Litan and Kamjong.
They have launched attacks with bombs and guns on Tangkhul Nagas and even abducted innocent civilians, who remain untraceable till now.
The indigenous communities of Manipur do not take these actions lightly, declared Jiten.
He further urged the State authorities to seek Prime Minister Narendra Modi's intervention to resolve the crisis in the State.
If the Government of India continues to disregard the turmoil in Manipur, the unrest may intensify and put the fate of the common man in jeopardy, he cautioned.
