Imphal, July 16: In protest against the indifferent attitude of the Govt to the problem of inflation on one hand and non-availability of rice on the other, womenfolk of the State would be taking out a mass rally at Imphal on July 18 .

The rally is being organised under the aegis of All Manipur Nupi Marup.

Announcing this during a press conference at Irabot Bhavan here this afternoon, general secretary of All Manipur Nupi Marup S Sorojini said that even as the price of essential commodities in the market has been increasing steadily over the last two years, the announcement of the Union Budget and 6th Pay Commission this year has led to sky-rocketing of the prices causing a serious impact on the live of the people specially the daily wage earners.

However, inspite of complete disregard to the problem of the people, the Congress led UPA Govt at the Centre has devoting all its time and energy in trying to sign the Nuclear Deal as if the country would not be able to survive without the help of America while the Congress led SPF Govt at the State has been clamouring over percentage cut from the developmental fund, she lamented.

Moreover, with election round the corner, the State Govt has been making tall claim of leading the State to the path of development in every public function, even though it has not been able to ensure the rightful share of the PDS items to the poor people of the State, she said.
