Imphal, January 15 2026: The agitation of All Manipur VDF Employees' Welfare Association has been called off after the Home Department issued an order today whereby the monthly remuneration of VDF personnel has been hiked.

Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, All Manipur VDF Employees' Welfare Association president Sagolsem Sanjit said that they were staging protests for the last 24 days in pursuit of several demands, particularly salary hike.

After considering the legitimate demands of the association, Joint Secretary (Home) Dr Mayengbam Veto issued an order today whereby the monthly remuneration of VDF personnel has been hiked to Rs 14,400 .

The same order also assured an annual increment of Rs 500, Sanjit said.

He also conveyed gratitude to top officials of Home Department, Police Headquarters, Department of Personnel, Department of Finance and Superintendents of Police for their support in fulfilling the main demand of the VDF personnel.

With their principal demand fulfilled, he announced withdrawal of their agitation with immediate effect.
