HC asks Govt to produce relevant files

Imphal, September 09 2025: In connection with the cancelled 2019 recruitment of MSPDCL and MSPCL Group C and Group D posts, the High Court of Manipur has ordered the respondents to produce the relevant Government file on the next date of hearing scheduled on September 12.Respondents of the case were- the State of Manipur represented by the Chief Secretary; Commissioner/Secretary, Power, MD, MSPDCL and MD, MSPCL .

Justice Ahanthem Bimol Singh, Judge, High Court of Manipur, passed the order after listening to both sides.

A writ petition (civil) and miscellaneous case [writ petition (civil)] filed separately by Soraisam Dinesh (33) from Sagolband Sayang Kurao Makhong (and 20 others) and Md Anash Hussain (and 7 others) were consolidated.

They had petitioned the Court to revoke the cancellation order and to further declare the result of the recruitment examination.

During Court proceedings today.

Advocate S Biswajit Meitei, senior counsel appearing for the petitioners, submitted a prayer to the Court to pass an interim order to "suspend the operation of the impugned order" of September 3.Meanwhile, Lenin Hijam, AG, appearing for the respondents, sought three days' time to enable the respondents to file a short affidavit opposing the passing of the interim order and also to produce and place the relevant Government file before the Court.

After hearing both sides, the Court fixed the next hearing on September 12 and directed the respondents to submit the file on the same day.
