Imphal, July 09 2025:
The State BJP MLAs take their party more seriously than the people, and this is why the public is suffering and bearing the brunt of the conflict even after more than 2 years, said MLA Th Lokeshwar today.

Speaking at the ceremony held at Yaipha Lamjing Kanglup Community Hall at Chingarel Tejpur, MLA Th Lokeshwar asserted that it was the failure of the then BJP-led Government to take decisive action that has prolonged the conflict and the suffering of the people of the State.
The BJP MLAs, he said, have "forgotten" that they are the representatives of the people.
"They take their party more seriously than the people.
They are always dependent on the party leadership in everything they do.
For their failure to take a strong stand and decisive action to resolve the conflict, the five Congress MLAs are also sharing the burden," Lokeshwar said.
The Congress has pointed out their flaws, but they (BJP MLAs) have refused to take [corrective] actions, he added.
"The President Rule Government has stated that the IDPs [Internally displaced Persons] will be allowed to return to their homes by December.
But the IDPs displaced from Moreh and Churachandpur have not been included.
This is concerning and it reflects a selective policy and a ploy to segregate and divide the people," Lokeshwar said.
Moreh and Churachandpur are two major places from where thousands of people have been forcefully displaced during the height of the conflict in 2023.Further, President's Rule has not improved the conditions of the people, he asserted.
All the major roads in the State are in bad shape.
However, the PR Government has not taken up any action to improve the conditions of the roads.
The BJP MLAs too are silent and not taking steps to address the grievances of the people, he charged.
Speaking about the E Pao Tengbang Lup Manipur, he lauded the organisation for donating life-saving blood to hospitals every year.
As a part of the event, 58 blood donors of the organisations and five students who topped Class X and XII examinations in Thang-Ta, Music and MIL Manipuri subjects were feted with certificates, shawls and mementos.
Angom Ningthou Angom Poireiton, E Pao Tengbang Lup president RC Khuman, advisor Okendra Athokpam, convenor Dr Th Sunil Deva, AMWJU president Ashem Bhakta, Head of Department of Umanglai Haraoba MUC Assistant Professor Dr Nganbi Chanu, Saraswati Institute of Management and Para Medical Sciences Chairman Plus Phijam, St Stephen Higher Secondary Hiyangthang SMC secretary Pukhrambam Inaobi, YLK advisor S Inaobi Meitei attended the event.
