District-Level Teachers' Day celebrated in Senapati

The first-ever District Level Teachers' Day celebration in Senapati was held today under the theme "Revitalizing Commitment" atMultipurpose Hall, Opposite Mini Secretariat Complex, Senapati.
The event organised by the Senapati District Zonal Teachers Association (SDZTA) in collaboration with Zonal Education Office, Senapati was graced by Mamoni Doley, Deputy Commissioner of Senapati and Chairperson of District Board of Education as the chief guest and L Solomon, MES, Zonal Education Officer, Senapati as the functional president.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Mamoni Doley, IAS extended her best wishes to all teachers, describing them as role models for society.
She emphasized that the celebration was not only a professional recognition but also a mission to shape the district, state, and nation.
Highlighting the importance of teacher roles in laying strong educational foundations, she revealed that the district administration had inspected schools to assess infrastructure and needs.
She announced that nine schools have been sanctioned for hostel accommodation, with work already underway.
She urged teachers to give their best to ensure that the future of students is not compromised.
She also further urged the gathering to start reforms and revitalizations from oneself for the betterment of schools.
In his speech, L Solomon, ZEO Senapati, highlighted the evolving role of teachers in both administration and classroom learning.
He called upon educators to embrace modem teaching methods and technology for effective learning outcomes.
The welcome note was delivered by PV Rowo Pou, DPM/PO, SSA, Senapati, who spoke on the responsibilities and dedication inherent in the teaching profession.
He also highlighted the significance of the theme "Revitalizing Commitment".
The celebration featured vibrant cultural programmes, including songs and dances from students of Senapati Government High School, Katomei Upper Primary School and Taphou Nepali Upper Primary School.
The guest artist Liihva Kyapaomai also enthralled the gathering with the song - Together We are One and more.
As part of the celebration, the Deputy Commissioner presented the 'Teacher of the Year Award- 2025' to Chakho Piku, a graduate teacher of Phuba High School utilised at Mao Maram Hr Sec School and two best nominee of the year- 2025 to Longmei Meiga R Naga, primary teacher, Katomei UPS and J Jimmy Pao, Primary Teacher, Senapati Government High School.
Around 300 students and teachers attended the auspicious programme, marking a memorable celebration of Teachers' Day.
