Ukhrul, July 06 2025:
The Committee on National Highway NH-102 A Affected Villages under Phungyar SubDivision (Koso to Sorbung) has strongly refuted the allegations and alleged misinformation statement issued by Phaningshang Ningshen, secretary of Affected Private Land Owners Association (APLOA) JAC on NH-102A-Package of Phungyar block in some local daily concerning compensation for highway construction.
The convener of the Committee, Rungshing Angkhang stated that APLOA JAC's claims against the Deputy Commissioner of Kamjong district regarding the land compensation process were baseless and lacked factual backing.
He noted that APLOA JAC had no consent, mandate, or support from the actual landowners of the affected villages.
Stating that APLOA is a self-style organisation, and have not connection with the National Committee from Koso to Sorbung village, Angkang asserted that the JAC's attempt to include the names of landowners in their statements was a deliberate effort to mislead the public and derail developmental activities for personal or political gains.
He further denounced APLOA JAC's demand to transfer the Deputy Commissioner as irrational, highlighting that the JAC even wrongly mentioned the road stretch starting from "Shangshak to Kambi" as "Koso to Khambi" under Phungyar Block in their demand.
The Committee, while stating that the affected landowners had no problems with the surveyed residential lands, forested lands and agriculture lands, etc, asserted that proper procedures had been followed, from the office for claims and objections from the affected landowners regarding 3A and 3D survey.
Though, there were some unresolved issues for some individuals in the process for settlement Calling out the JAC's unspecified mention of "Missing Component" as questionable, the Committee said the concerns do not reflect the reality on the ground.
The Committee therefore urged APLOA JAC to refrain from obstructing development, emphasizing that highway connectivity is essential for regional growth and integration.
They reaffirmed their commitment to support the National Highway Act and pledged full cooperation in facilitating highway construction in their respective areas to connect the region with the rest of the State.
