Imphal, February 05 2025: Manipur police arrested four cadres belonging to different banned outfits from Imphal and Bishnupur yesterday.

According to the Police Control Room (PCR), the arrested cadres were involved in extortion activities.

Elaborating, police said that two active members of KCP (PWG) namely Ningthoujam Jupiter (27) and Sorokhaibam Amarjit involved in extortion activities from the general public, Government officials, and shopkeepers, among others in greater Imphal areas were arrested from Mahabali.

From their possession, one M20 pistol with five rounds in the magazine was seized.

A cadre of PLA namely Pukhrambam Prem was arrested yesterday for extorting huge amounts of money from the public, businessmen and Government officials in Nambol, Bishnupur and Ningthoukhong areas, said police.

In another operation, police arrested one Lourembam Mani (a cadre of another outfit) in connection with extortion activities including making monetary demands to various Government offices located at the Imphal area from Takyel Kolom Leikai.
