Pambei-led UNLF holds 10th General Assembly

The Pambei-led UNLF held its 10th General Assembly for three days from July 28 to July 30,2025 and the General Assembly, as per the party's constitution, dissolved the 9th Central Committee.
According to a statement issued by the outfit's Publicity & Education Secretary Charairongba Thokchom, the General Assembly observed a two-minute silence in honour of all those people who had laid down their lives in the course of the liberation struggle which started from 1964 .
The General Assembly approved several new policies and programmes, all aimed at strengthening the party after due deliberation.
After dissolving the 9th Central Committee, the 1 Oth Central Committee was elected with Khundongbam Pambei, Naorem Loya, Salam Nongdol, Sinam Pankhei, Thokchom Kham-baton.
Khundrakpam Sanahal, Khuraijam Khoimu, Khuraijam Ibudhou, Takhellambam Thajalemba, Charairongba Thokchom and Khundongbam Lanjingba as its members.
The 10th General Assembly re-elected Khundongbam Pambei as the outfit's Chairman while Thokchom Khambaton was elected Vice Chairman and acting Chairman.
Designations of the other newly elected Central Committee Members are Salam Nongdol- General Secretary, N Loya-Defence Secretary, Sinam Pankhei- Secretary, Department of Finance, Khundrakpam Sanahal- Secretary, Department of External & Regional Affairs, Khuraijam Ibudhou- Secretary, Department of Organization, Charairongba Thokchom- Secretary, Department of Publicity & Education and Department of Human Resource Development.
Moreover, Assistant Secretary Thokchom Khanba will be in-charge of the Department of Health and Family Welfare.
The 10th General Assembly elected Lt Col Khuraijam Khoimu as the Chief of Army Staff of the outfit's armed wing Manipur People's Army (MPA).
The General Assembly is the highest authority of the party and it resolved to stand firm on its earlier decision to keep the sovereignty of Manipur as the main agenda of the ongoing ceasefire and subsequent peace talks between the outfit and the Government of India, it said.
