All set for counting for votes

All preparations and necessary arrangements are in place for counting of votes for Inner and Outer Manipur Parliamentary seats on June 4, said Chief Electoral Officer, Pradeep Kumar Jha today.
The counting of votes will begin from 8 am of June 4 in 24 centres, and a three-layer security measure will be put in place in all centres on the day of the counting, said the CEO.
On the day of the counting, entry of unauthorised persons will be restricted, however, authorised media persons with valid pass and counting agents will be allowed access to the centres.
As per the CEO Manipur, votes will be counted in 50 counting halls in 24 centres across 11 district headquarters of Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Chandel, Ukhrul, Senapati, Kangpokpi, Tamenglong, Churachandpur and Jiribam.
Five counting halls have been designated for counting of postal ballots and ETPBS at the headquarters of the two Returning Officers of 1-Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency and 2-Outer Manipur (ST) Parliamentary Constituency.
The remaining 45 halls will be used for counting of EVMs and VVPATs.
25 Counting Observers have been appointed by the Election Commission of India and they will arrive here before June 4 .
One ECIL (Electronics Corporation of India Limited) engineer for each counting hall has been assigned where EVM counting will be done, said the CEO.
The CEO informed that authorized counting agents of candidates shall reach the counting centres well in time to participate in the opening of strong rooms.
Training of the Returning Officers, Assistant Returning Officers, Counting Officials including the Micro Observers have been completed.
The counting process in the counting halls will be under CCTV/videography coverage.
Each round of counting will be updated through ENCORE application and will be available for public access through Voter Turnout Mobile Application and results.eci.gov.in, said the CEO.
The State went to Lok Sabha polls on April 19 and April 26 .
