Hackathon on emerging tech held

Hackathon on 'Emerging Technologies, emphasising Al, AR, and VR' was jointly organised by Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), Imphal; Manipur Technology Innovation Hub (MTI-HUB), and Manipur University at STPI Octane COE, Manipur Institute of Management Studies (MIMS) Building, MU on February 27.As release from MTI-HUB informed that the inaugural session of the programme was attended by MIMS director professor Laishram Prabhakar Singh, MU Research & Development Cell Dr Ch Ibohal Meitei, STPI, Imphal additional director and OIC Heigrujam Arun Kumar Singh, MTI-HUB lead Dr Rajiv Kangabam and MIMS Dr Sorokhaibam Keshorjit Singh as jury members.
A total of 15 teams from various institutions participated, addressing diverse problem statements through AI, AR, and VR technologies.
After thorough evaluation by the jury members, the top three teams were recognised for their outstanding ideas and execution.
The first prize was awarded to NIT, Manipur team comprising of Khumanthem Lanthoiba Meitei, Maimom Albert, and Wahengbam Nirvash Singh for their 'Resilience System for Manipur project'; second prize to IIIT, Manipur team of Vishal Srinivasan, Sanchit Bishnoi, and Harsh Vardhan for their 'AI-Based Plant Disease Detection and Precision Farming System for Manipur's Farmers' and the third prize went to NIT, Manipur team of Saidul Hussain, Santosh Singh, and Shivam Kumar Verma for their 'AR Navigation in Complex Buildings project', the release added.
