Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, EKHAL condole demise of Maibam Nabakishore

Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Thoubal District Branch and Eeramdam Khorjel Apunba Lup (EKHAL) have extended heartfelt condolences upon the passing of noted contemporary writer Maibam Nabakishore Singh due to an illness on November 29.According to a press release issued by Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Thoubal, a condolence meeting in this connection was held with the participation of representatives from Khorirol Sandoklup Wangjing, Ningol Khut Manipur, Sahitya Yokhat Kanglup (SAYOKA) Tentha and Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Thoubal today.
The gathering observed a 2-minute silence and offered prayers for the departed soul to rest in peace.
Meanwhile, Eeramdam Khorjel Apunba Lup also held a condolence meeting and observed a 2-minute silence to mourn the demise of the former president of EKHAL and recipient of Sahitya Akademi Award and Manipur State Award for Literature.
During his lifetime, Maibam Nabakishore who hailed from Hiyanglam Mayai Leikai, authored 6 short story books, 1 poetry book, 2 non-fiction, a compilation of radio plays and one book on satire/comedy.
He was also a playwright at All India Radio.
M Nabakishore has been honoured with more than 15 literary awards.
Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Thoubal and Eeramdam Khorjel Apunba Lup have extended their condolences to the bereaved family of the deceased.
