3 more MLAs pledge support

Members of JFD Women Wing visited three MLAs today as a part of their signature campaign launched yesterday to ascertain the positions of MLAs on the popular demand for updating the National Register of Citizens (NRC) with 1951 as the base year before census.
Members of JFD Women Wing visited MLAs Sheikh Noorul Hassan (Kshetrigao AC), Sapam Kunjakeswor (Keba) Singh (Patsoi AC) and Sanasam Premchandra (Kumbi AC) .
Together with a five-point memorandum, the women activists also submitted a written declaration which says that census operations in Manipur must be kept at bay until all illegal immigrants are updated by way of updating the NRC with 1951 as the base year.
According to a press release issued by the JFD Women Wing, all the three Members namely; Sheikh Noorul Hassan, Sapam Kunjakeswor and Sanasam Premchandra expressed unstinted support to the people's demand for updating NRC with 1951 as the base year before census.
On the other hand, six MLAs have appended their signatures on the written declaration in support of updating the NRC.
They are Khongbantabam Ibomcha (Lamlai AC), Lourembam Rameshwor (Keirao AC), Karam Shyam (Langthabal AC), Sheikh Noorul Hassan (Kshetrigao AC), Sapam Kunjakeswor (Patsoi AC) and Sanasam Premchandra (Kumbi AC) .
