Electrocuted

While two men were electrocuted, the lifeless body of a 60-year-old woman who fell in Sekmai River has been recovered today.
The two men electrocuted today have been identified as Ingudam Nitai (42) of Keishamthong Thangjam Leikai and Khumukcham Susilo (40) of Umathel Awang Leikai.
The deceased woman has been identified as Januka Mishra, wife of Prasad of Kanglatongbi Hathikhuwa.
Ingudam Nitai was operating an electric motor to pump out water from his house when he was electrocuted due to a short-circuit at around 10 am today.
His wife, Ingudam ongbi Geetarani also suffered electric shock and she has been hospitalised.
Nitai was a heart patient and had a pacemaker, and when he fell due to electric shock and thinking it was due to exhaustion, Geetarani caught him and got shocked herself.
Nitai died on the spot.
Geetarani's condition is said to be serious and she is in the ICU Ward of Advanced Hospital, Imphal.
Khumukcham Susilo got electrocuted today morning at around 8 when a tree he cut fell on a live wire at the property of one Khumukcham Dillip at Kakching Khunou.
On the other hand, Januka Mishra, 60, fell in Sekmai River yesterday morning at around 5.30 .
While police had launched a massive search and rescue operation, she remained traceless until today morning when her lifeless body was recovered from the River at Sekmai Parao, near Sekmai dam.
The body has been picked up and deposited at RIMS morgue for postmortem.
