Moirang, October 28 2024:
Cessation of firing does not necessarily mean there is peace rather peace implies a sense of security, said former UNLF leader RK Sanayaima alias Meghen.
RK Sanayaima alias Meghen who is also the advisor of Peace Committee Kangleipak/Manipur made this statement while unveiling a memorial stone erected in honour of Longjam Naocha who was killed when a bomb fired by Kuki terrorists landed on his house.
The memorial stone was erected on Naocha's grave inside his Phougakchao Ikhai Awang Leikai residential compound.
Speaking at the memorial stone unveiling ceremony organised by the Peace Committee Kangleipak/Manipur, RK Sanayaima said that even though a large number of people have died in the violence, there is no sign of the violence coming to an end any time soon.
Longjam Naocha was one among the 50 special members of Peace Committee Kangleipak/Manipur.
The committee has been working to create an environment where all the indigenous communities can live together in harmony.
The memorial stone unveiling ceremony was attended by a large number of people including Longjam Naocha's family, members of Peace Committee Kangleipak/Manipur, members of different organisations and Meira Paibi groups.
