Imphal, May 28: Security forces have apprehended nine activists of different armed underground organisations in the last two days.

According to a statement of PRO IGAR (S), troops of 34 Assam Rifles apprehended two KYKL cadres identified as S/S Sgt Maj Mujum Dinesh Singh (28) s/o M Ramei Singh and S/S Pvt Maibam Dhamen Singh (22) s/o M Ibohal of Nongbrang from Wangkhem Bazar yesterday .

One Activa scooter (MN01/Q7988), a Nokia mobile handset and Rs 7500 in cash have been listed as items recovered from the two, who had been handed over to Thoubal police station today.

In another incident, two UNLF cadres identified as SS Danbir alias Talumbi (23) s/o H Khongdon of Hiyanglam Hiranmei and E Prem Singh (24) s/o E Ibohal Singh of Hiyanglam were hauled up during the course of an operation launched by troops of 21 Assam Rifles as Tokpaching area today.

While informing that both Danbir and Prem had been handed over to Kakching police station today, the PRO said based on specific information troops of 12 Maratha LI launched operation in the general area of Salam Makha Leikai today and arrested a PLA cadre.

The arrested person has been identified as S/S Cpl Maipam Samchan (36) s/o Laigam of Laigam and has been handed over to Patsoi police station.

Meanwhile, two cadres of the UKLF identified as Leivon Parithoi alias manglun (45) s/o L Sareichung of Aimol Khunyai and mangte Mappu Aimol (55) s/o (L) M Ringneikhup Aimol of Aimol Chingnunghut High School have been arrested by a team of Thoubal district police commandos while conducting frisking and checking at Pallel Bazar on May 27 at around 1.45 pm, said a release issued today by SP (Thoubal) Clay Khongsai.

It is informed that Leibon Parithoi used to collect money for the UKLF organisation from trucks plying in between Imphal and Chandel under the command of one S/S deputy finance Angam whereas Mappu was aiding Parithoi in similar operations/activities.

On the otherhand, Sr SP (IW) L Kailun informed of Imphal West police commandos nabbing a cadre of the KCP (MC) and one sympathiser of PREPAK (VC) from Yaiskul near Krishna Premi Oil pump and western side of Pologround respectively last evening.

The KCP (MC) activist has been identified as one Moirangthem Boynao Singh (35) s/o M Shyamkishor Singh of Singjamei Thongam Leikai while the PREPAk sympathiser is informed to be one Laishram Milan Singh alias Leo (23) s/o L shyamkesho Singh of Mayang Langjing Tamang Makha Leikai.

Boynao reportedly joined the armed outfit in February this through one Shantikumar Singh alias SK of Kwakeithel Mayaikoibi.
