Imphal, June 27 2024:
Instead of trying to gain political mileage over the crisis, the Manipur Government should instead work sincerely to uproot narco-terrorists from Manipur, said Meitei Pangals of Khomidok GP.
Addressing a press conference at Kairang Teramakhong Community Hall today, Chesabam Nurjaman alias Danny former Pradhan, Kairang Khomidok GP said that the War on Drugs campaign led by Chief Minister N Biren Singh and eviction of illegal land encroachers are major reasons for the eruption of violence on May 3 .
Speaking on behalf of the people of Kairang Khomidok GP, Nurjaman said that the War on Drugs campaign sought to save the youth from drug abuse.
He expressed grief that certain people in the garb of leaders have taken to speaking ill about the Chief Minister.
Nurjaman urged all to pledge support to the War on Drugs campaign led by the Chief Minister to annihilate narco-terrorists from Manipur and strive for a drug free society rather than resorting to defaming one another amid this conflict situation.
He also appealed to the authorities concerned to refrain from all forms of measures to arrest village defence village volunteers who have been playing a pivotal role in safeguarding the lives and properties of the indigenous people ever since the outbreak of Manipur crisis.
