CSOs of Moirang urge MPs to raise Manipur issue in Parliament

The civil society organizations (CSOs) of Moirang have urged the two elected Member of Parliament of both inner and outer Lok Sabha Constituency of Manipur to raise the issue of Manipur crisis in the ongoing session of the Parliament so to bring a resolution at the earliest.
In this regard, a press conference was held at Moirang Lamkhai attended by the members of prominent CSOs of Moirang namely MAMPIL Moirang, KEMKAL, Ibudhou Thangjing Pana, Moirang Thangjing Yageirel Marup, Kege Moirang Kangleirol Kanba Lup, Historical Heritage Development Organization, MACHALL Moirang, Youth of Moirang and Khamba Thoibi Dance Academy among others.
Addressing media persons, Thangjing Yageirel Marup Moirang secretary M Somorjit on behalf of the CSOs urged the two elected MPs of Manipur to raise the pressing issue of Manipur in the ongoing session of the Parliament.
Expressing dismay that the Government has failed to resolve the ethnic crisis in Manipur which has been going on for more than a year, M Somorjit highlighted that the innocent civilians are the ones who have been badly affected by the crisis since thousands have been rendered homeless and hundreds of innocent lives have been lost with extensive damage to properties.
In connection with the recent flare up of violence in Jiribam district, he urged the MP of Outer Manipur to give special focus on the grievances of the residents of Jiribam who have been adversely impacted by the violence.
Further he urged the two MPs to focus on materialization of important demands in the context of Manipur such as implementation of NRC in Manipur, deportation of illegal immigrants, abrogation of SOO pact with Kuki militants and so on.
Somorjit expressed firm belief that the two MPs will act in accordance with the wishes of the people.
