We don't lack talents : Man on Chandrayan-II

Hidam Rajeev, a Manipuri native, who is among the group of elite scientists and engineers responsible for the successful launch of ISRO's Chandrayan-II has stated that Manipur youth do not lack talents but they need to work hard.
Speaking to The Sangai Express over telephone from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, Hidam Rajeev said that he is a member of the team which produced solid propellant for the prestigious Chandrayan-II mission.
Chandrayan-II carrying orbiter, lander and land rover was launched using a powerful GSLV Mark III rocket.
Notably, Hidam Rajeev is a regular member of teams which produce solid propellants for private and foreign space vehicles launched from Sriharikota Space Port.

Hidam Rajeev who completed Chemical Engineering from Assam Engineering College said that he was also a member of the team which produced solid propellant for Mars orbiter Mangalyaan launched in November 2013.After selection during a campus recruitment drive at Assam Engineering College, he worked at Rajasthan based Hindustan Zinc Limited for sometime before he was appointed at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in 2009 as a scientist/engineer.
Born at Dibong, Jiribam district, Rajeev is the eldest of three siblings.
His other two brothers are engineers.
Rajeev studied at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Pailapool from Class VI to Class XII.
Since a very young age, Rajeev had a yearning to work at either ISRO or Bhabha Atomic Research Centre.
Rajeev said that one's desire and goals can be achieved if one is hardworking and persevering enough.
He categorically stated that Manipuri youth do not lack talents.
He is the eldest son of Hidam Indrakumar and Hidam (O) Sanahanbi.
Rajeev's wife Surma said that she is proud of her husband's contributions in such a prestigious National space project even though they do not get much time to be together.
