CAU instruction director conferred with Life Time Achievement Award, 2014

Dr Sarbjit Singh Nagra, Director of Instruction, Central Agriculture University, Imphal has been conferred the Life Time Achievement Award� 2014, by Indian Poultry Science Association in recognition of his contributions to the field of Poultry Science Education, Research and Extension by the Indian Poultry Science Association on December 18 at Namakkal, Tamil Nadu.
Born on February 3, 1952 in a remote village of Punjab, Dr Sarbjit Singh was a recipient of Junior and Senior Research Fellowships of ICAR for MSc and PhD programme.
He began his service as a Research Fellow in 1982 at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana.
He became the Director of Instruction in Central Agricultural University, Imphal in 2013 .

During his career, Dr Nagra made significant contributions in the field of Animal Husbandry, particularly in Poultry Nutrition, Housing and Management.
He has more than 165 National and international publications and one patent.
He has also authored two books and contributed chapters in another 5 books.
During his career, Dr Nagra travelled widely to present his research in National and international conferences.
Besides, being a dedicated scientist and able administrator, Dr Nagra has been highly respected as a teacher.
He has guided many PhD and Masters Degree students till now.
Dr Nagra has been a member of the Research Advisory Council of Directorate of Poultry Research, Hyderabad and Central Aviation Research Institute, Izatnagar, Member Advisory Committee to the Central Poultry Development Organisation, Chandigarh and the Academic Committee of MANAGE, Hyderabad.
He had also held the post of Vice-President at the Indian Poultry Science Association and Indian Society of Animal Production Management.
As a Director of Instruction, CAU, Dr Nagra has brought several reforms to improve the academic activities of Central Agricultural University, Imphal (Manipur) and its constituent colleges.
He has introduced various programmes for holding sports and cultural competitions in the Central Agriculture University (CAU) .
