Inner Line Permit System meet at Jiri Town Hall

Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System conducted a public meeting under the theme 'Extension and Adoption' at Jiri Town Hall on September 21 last.
The meeting decided to press the Government regarding implementation of ILPS by November 18 this year, said a press release.
The meeting also resolved to pledge support by Jiri people in the movement of implementation of ILPS.
It also decided to press the Government regarding various developmental works of the Sub-Division, added the press release.
The press release further said that the population at the periphery of around 20 km in Jiri is dominated by outsiders.
Manipuri language is neither known nor spoken at these areas and Meetei Meetei is not taught in the Government schools, the press release said.
Maintaining that many outsiders have been included in the Electoral Rolls, the press release urged the Government to check inclusion of names of outsiders in the Electoral Rolls without having proper domicile checking.
