Imphal, August 23 2022: The State saw a substantial drop in daily positivity rate to 1 per cent during the last 24 hours against yesterday's 2.3 per cent as just 5 new COVID-19 positive cases were detected while testing 523 samples at various testing centres.

The 5 new positive cases were reported from Imphal East (2), Imphal West (1), Thoubal (1) and Kamjong (1).With the addition of these 5 cases, the cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,39,625.As no covid related fatalities were reported during the last 24 hours, the death toll remains unchanged at 2145 .

As many as 20 individuals were discharged from home isolation (14), RIMS (1), Shija Hospital (4) qand CAPF (1) today leaving 87 active cases including 85 from general population and 2 CAPF personnel in the State.

The recovery rate is 98.40 percent.

3093 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered at various vaccination centres across the State yesterday.

The State, till yesterday, has administered 31,58,520 doses of covid vaccines including 16,25,303 first doses, 12,97,954 second doses and 2,35,263 precautionary doses.

The State has altogether vaccinated 62.29 percent of its eligible population with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines while 54.30 percent of the eligible population have received their second doses.
