More arms recovered at CCpur

Even as security forces recovered a variety of weapons and explosives from Langza in Churachandpur today, more arms and ammunition have also been surrendered following the Government's renewed efforts to bring normalcy to the State.
A press note issued by Police Control Room (PCR) said that one SMG carbine with a magazine, one tear gas gun, two sniper rifles, one double barrel gun, one single barrel gun, one .38mm pistol, two mortar shells, two IEDs, seven hand grenades, five radio sets were surrendered to police in Thoubal today.
In Imphal East, one AK 56 rifle, one MAS series bolt action sniper rifle with a magazine, one 303 rifle with a magazine, one 9mm carbine A1 were surrendered.
The control room continued that a large cache of arms, ammunition and explosives including one 303 rifle with a magazine, three single barrel (country made) guns, one 81mm modified mortar (pompi), three country made IEDs, three .303 live rounds, one 81mm mortar shell (country made), three country made improvised bombs and three improvised pompi ammunition were recovered during a search operation in Langza under Churachandpur police station.
PCR continued that two illegal bunkers were also dismantled today at Chingmang and L Champhai village under Leimakhong police station in Kangpokpi.
A cadre of KCP (Noyon) who was allegedly involved in extortion activities was arrested from Chingarel Tejpur today.
The arrested, according to PCR, has been identified as Damu Kangjam alias Ningjaba (47) .
